Texas Spring Break 2027 is not the same week in every school district. In our current 2026-2027 Texas district calendar data, the most common Spring Break window is March 15-19, 2027, followed by March 8-12, 2027.
Those two weeks cover most districts, but there are important exceptions. Some districts connect Spring Break to a nearby student holiday, spring intersession, or Easter-related break, so the full student no-school window can be longer than one Monday-Friday week.
Quick Answer
In the current Texas School Calendar dataset, most Texas districts use one of two Spring Break 2027 patterns:
- March 15-19, 2027 is the most common Spring Break week.
- March 8-12, 2027 is the second most common Spring Break week.
- A smaller group uses longer windows such as March 5-12, March 8-15, March 12-19, March 22-26, or a district-specific spring intersession pattern.
For example, Houston ISD and Katy ISD list Spring Break as March 8-12, 2027. Dallas ISD, Frisco ISD, Plano ISD, Austin ISD, and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD list March 15-19, 2027.

Why Spring Break Splits Across Texas
Spring Break is one of the easiest dates to misread because the statewide pattern hides regional clustering. In the current published district data, 101 calendars use March 15-19 as the only spring no-school window, and 50 use March 8-12 as the only spring no-school window.
The split is not random. March 8-12 dominates the San Antonio area and runs through central and south Houston. March 15-19 dominates DFW, Austin, and the northern Houston suburbs. A family in Houston faces a genuine split because the metro straddles both weeks. A family in DFW faces near-total alignment — only Denton ISD breaks from the March 15-19 consensus.
The split matters because many family plans cross district lines. A parent may work in one district, live in another, or coordinate plans with relatives in a different metro area. A statewide "Spring Break 2027" answer needs to show both major weeks and the districts attached to each one.
Longer windows usually mean the district has connected Spring Break to a nearby student holiday, staff development day, or Easter-related break. Those calendars need extra attention because a simple Monday-Friday label may not capture the full student no-school period.

Common Spring Break 2027 Patterns
Across the 204 district calendars in our current 2026-2027 data, every district has at least one spring break, spring intersession, or spring no-school window listed in the district break data used for this site.

|---|---|
| Mar 15-19, 2027 | 101 |

| Mar 15-19 and Mar 26-29, 2027 | 11 |
| Mar 8-12 and Mar 26-29, 2027 | 8 |
| Mar 12-19, 2027 | 5 |

The table is a planning summary, not a replacement for the district calendar. Some districts label one part as Spring Intersession and another part as Spring Break. Others use a longer label such as Spring Break / Easter. District pages carry the full source-backed calendar when a plan depends on the exact school-day status.
Metro Area Patterns
Greater Houston splits between March 8-12 (Houston ISD, Katy ISD, Pasadena ISD, Clear Creek ISD, Spring Branch ISD, Lamar CISD) and March 15-19 (Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Conroe ISD, Klein ISD, Humble ISD, Spring ISD, Aldine ISD). Fort Bend ISD and Galena Park ISD list March 5-12; Alief ISD lists March 8-15.
Dallas-Fort Worth is more consistent: most major districts use March 15-19. Denton ISD is the main DFW exception with March 8-12. Austin-area districts lean March 15-19, while San Antonio-area districts predominantly use March 8-12.
See the table above for exact dates by district. For broader metro comparisons, use the Houston area and DFW calendar difference guides.
Longer or Unusual Spring Break Windows
Most districts use one Monday-Friday Spring Break week. Three patterns create the longer windows.
Connected student holidays or staff days. Fort Bend ISD (March 5-12), Alief ISD (March 8-15), Northside ISD (March 8-15), and others extend the standard week with an adjacent Friday or Monday where students are also off. These are not multi-week breaks — they are standard 5-day breaks with one extra day attached. The extra day changes pickup and childcare for that specific date, not the whole week.
Spring intersession. El Paso-area districts including Canutillo ISD, Clint ISD, and Ysleta ISD use two separate March windows — typically March 8-12 and March 15-19. Socorro ISD uses March 15-19 as Spring Intersession and March 22-26 as Spring Break. Two separate one-week blocks in March are a different planning challenge than one extended break.
Easter adjacency. A small number of districts push Spring Break into late March or April to align with Easter. New Caney ISD (March 26-April 2) and Texarkana ISD (April 5-9) are the clearest examples. A district whose Spring Break falls three weeks after the statewide norm will not align with nearby districts for shared custody, travel, or activities.
Other one-district patterns in the current data include Anthony ISD, Kilgore ISD, and San Elizario ISD.
